The Porcelain Setts are often used to border paving with a contrasting colour adding a designed and personalised feature style to your garden.

They can also create gentle sweeping curves to a border and replace often less entrancing straight lines.

The Setts can also be used to fill in between different sizes of paving, and give character to your garden or to create stunning features, such as cobbled squares, circles or other similar random patterns.

Laying Comments

Porcelain is manufactured in batches so the the colour and texture can vary from batch to batch.
It is essential to lay the paving by mixing the tiles from each of the packs that are to be laid.
This ensures that the overall desired hue is achieved and evens out any slight colour discrepancies.

Laying your patio one pallet at a time can lead to slight but visible colour banding

Porcelain Sett tiles are rectified to give a calibrated, dimensional accuracy. This enables closer jointing so that the tiles can appear as one large uninterrupted, seamless surface of stone flooring.

A rectified floor tile is one whose edges are perfectly vertical with respect to it’s surface. This is a result of precise machining of a regular unrectified tile, so that each of the four sides will be at a 90° angle to the top and bottom faces of the tile.

Lay on an MOT Type 1 or GSB aggregate sub-base, over a geo-textile covering.

Set the paving tiles on a full wet mortar bed (40mm), using a 5:1 sharp sand : cement ratio.
